Dr. Ammons graduated from Life University in 1980. Prior to his chiropractic studies, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating with a Biology degree. Dr. Ammons was born in Sanford, lived in the Deep River community north of Sanford, and graduated from Deep River High School. He became interested in Chiropractic after experiencing the benefits of Chiropractic on several occasions as a teenager and, once his undergrad studies were completed, decided his calling was to be a Chiropractor.

While in chiropractic college Dr. Ammons had the good fortune to study under and later intern with Dr. Roy Sweat researcher and developer of the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic program.

Dr. Ammons was a charter member and has served on the Board of Directors of the R.W. Sweat Research Foundation since it’s inception in the 1980’s. Dr. Ammons has continued his studies and has been board certified in Atlas Orthogonal procedures by both the R. W. Sweat Foundation and Sherman College of Chiropractic. He has also been certified in Activator Methods Chiropractic, Cox Flexion Distraction procedures, Advanced Spinal Biomechanical Engineering, and most recently received certification in Kennedy Decompression Technique. He has also studied nutrition extensively, especially the role of whole food supplements in improving bodily function, healing, and overall health. Dr. Ammons has always made every effort to have the best of equipment and stay abreast of any new advances in Chiropractic. When he is not working Dr. Ammons enjoys hunting, fishing, church activities, and spending time with his wife, three children, and especially his three grandchildren.
