Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Myers was born and raised in Texas. She became interested in chiropractic after years of repetitive injuries to her spine from cheerleading and gymnastics. She began getting adjusted at the age of 12 and because of chiropractic was able to continue with cheering and running track for many more years.

Dr. Myers says, “Once I understood that chiropractic was simply putting the bone back in to place and allowing the body to heal itself the way God intended it to, I knew I wanted to pursue this career and help others get back their life and have complete wellness their whole lives.”

Dr. Myers attended Dallas Baptist University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Religion in 2004. Before beginning her chiropractic journey, she had the opportunity to live in Africa and work with missionaries through the International Mission Board. Once she returned back to the states, she attended Parker University in Dallas, TX and graduated in 2008 with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Once Dr. Myers moved to North Carolina she worked under Dr. Daryl Ammons and received training by Dr. Roy Sweat in order to obtain her Board Certification in Atlas Orthogonal work in 2015. Dr. Myers feels blessed that she can go to work and see the miracles of chiropractic happen every day.

Dr. Myers lives in Apex with her husband, Tri, and her three children. She enjoys serving at her church, The Summit, with the youth, spending time with her family camping, reading, being a chicken mama and loving on her animals.

Dr. Cory Burks grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a focus on human movement. After his undergraduate work, Dr. Burks had the incredible opportunity to work alongside an upper cervical chiropractor as a corrective exercise specialist.

During that time, he was able to help alleviate pain and increase the performance in a wide range of clients through specialized stretching and movement. After seeing the power that Chiropractic had on restoring balance to the whole structure and getting results in much less time, he decided to pursue his doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University in Atlanta, GA. During his time in school, he continued to search for the most efficient technique that could restore the alignment of the whole body without any high force popping or twisting of the neck.

Dr. Burks’ passion for helping patients experience their highest levels of health and performance drives him to continue to learn every day in order to provide the best care possible to everyone he treats. When he is not at work, he enjoys any kind of outdoor or athletic activity including jiu-jitsu, swimming, cycling, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and hiking.

Dr. Ammons graduated from Life University in 1980. Prior to his chiropractic studies, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating with a Biology degree. Dr. Ammons was born in Sanford, lived in the Deep River community north of Sanford, and graduated from Deep River High School. He became interested in Chiropractic after experiencing the benefits of Chiropractic on several occasions as a teenager and, once his undergrad studies were completed, decided his calling was to be a Chiropractor.

While in chiropractic college Dr. Ammons had the good fortune to study under and later intern with Dr. Roy Sweat researcher and developer of the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic program.

Dr. Ammons was a charter member and has served on the Board of Directors of the R.W. Sweat Research Foundation since it’s inception in the 1980’s. Dr. Ammons has continued his studies and has been board certified in Atlas Orthogonal procedures by both the R. W. Sweat Foundation and Sherman College of Chiropractic. He has also been certified in Activator Methods Chiropractic, Cox Flexion Distraction procedures, Advanced Spinal Biomechanical Engineering, and most recently received certification in Kennedy Decompression Technique. He has also studied nutrition extensively, especially the role of whole food supplements in improving bodily function, healing, and overall health. Dr. Ammons has always made every effort to have the best of equipment and stay abreast of any new advances in Chiropractic. When he is not working Dr. Ammons enjoys hunting, fishing, church activities, and spending time with his wife, three children, and especially his three grandchildren.
